This rug was handwoven by Malika, Zhara, Khatima, and Rokia in Anzal, a village located just north of Tazenakht, a town known for its rich weaving heritage.
The four artisans spent six weeks creating this Hand-Knot x Zanafi area rug. Made with 100% live wool, the wool was dyed using a unique technique that blends florals and dyes the wool in bunches, allowing subtle variations of sunny hues to move throughout the weave.
The combination of Hand-Knot and Zanafi techniques is a living reflection of Anzal’s powerful weaving history. In this village, the craft is preserved by women passing their skills down from one generation to the next.
With its simple pattern, intricate design details, and warm tonal variation, this one-of-a-kind piece brings quiet character and texture to any home.
