This rug was designed and will be woven by the artisans of Anzal, a women-only weaving association located about 30 km north of Tazenakht. Fatima, the President of the Association, serves as our trusted liaison for all custom orders.

This piece brings together two techniques in a single rug: a naturally knotted low pile set against a taupe flatweave base. The interplay between raised and recessed sections traces a maze-like pattern, creating a rich blend of texture and tone.

Each knot is tied by hand, and each row of flatweave is carefully built around the pattern. This demands patience and precision to keep the two weaves in balance.

The result is a rug that brings a mesmerizing sense of dimension to any space, and a testament to the versatility of Amazigh weaving traditions.
