A soft sand path curves down through the dunes, with tall grass, pink sea thrift and white flowers on either side. A weathered post fence runs along the left and a lichened stone wall along the right, leading toward a cluster of slate roofs. Beyond them the bay opens out in clear blue, scattered with rocks, beneath a green headland and a bright summer sky.
Its warm sand and fresh greens bring an easy seaside mood to a living room, and it suits a guest bedroom just as well. Of the nine paintings of this small fishing village in the Atlantic Harbour collection, Cottage at the Harbour Bend and The Harbour Window are its closest companions.
