The full starting routine, with the one step most people get wrong: heat. The oil in your meibomian glands melts at around body temperature and above, and a facecloth from the hot tap cools within about ninety seconds — long before anything softens. Sustained, controlled heat is what actually clears a blocked gland, and it's why this kit outperforms drops alone.
Order matters: heat first, then massage, then the lid spray, then drops. Heating without expressing softens the oil and leaves it exactly where it was.
You should notice a difference within two to three weeks. Do all of it, every day — most people who feel a dry eye routine "didn't work" gave up in the first few days.
Then stop buying bottles and let us measure rather than guess. The next step is a Dry Eye Evaluation — an in-depth, paid assessment of your tear film, lids and oil glands with one of our optometrists; the fee is confirmed when you book. A full eye examination comes first: the evaluation is booked once you've had a full examination with us, or elsewhere, within the last six months. New to Rose Optometry, or no recent examination? Book a full examination and we'll line up the Dry Eye Evaluation as your next appointment. Examined within the last six months? Book the Dry Eye Evaluation (bring a copy of the record if it was done elsewhere), or call (07) 847 3195. The whole pathway is on our dry eye guide.
