DESCRIPTION
The Double Delight Nectarine (Prunus persica var. nucipersica) is a highly productive, deciduous fruit tree prized for its spectacular double pink spring blossoms and exceptionally flavorful fruit. Its smooth, dark red skin surrounds juicy, golden-yellow freestone flesh with a rich, aromatic sweetness. This self-pollinating variety requires approximately 300 winter chill hours, making it ideal for Southern California gardens. Fruit typically ripens in July.
Plant in full sun with well-draining, fertile soil. Water deeply and regularly during the growing season, especially while fruit develops. Apply balanced fertilizer in spring, prune annually during dormancy, and thin developing fruit to encourage larger nectarines. USDA Zones 6b–10.
