The Roamwild PestOff Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder 2.0 is a two-port tube feeder that keeps squirrels, rats and large birds off your seed and reopens automatically for songbirds. It is Roamwild's flagship feeder, designed by founder Lloyd Freedman, and ships free from Columbus, Ohio.
Each feeding port sits on its own spring. When a squirrel lands on a perch, only that port closes; a bird on the other port keeps feeding. Dual metal baffles block climbing access from above and below, and a smooth anti-squirrel ring gives nothing to cling to. The ports are factory-set, so there is no tension to calibrate.
Hang the feeder at least 18 inches from any vertical surface (wall, fence, post or tree trunk) and at least 5 feet off the ground, on a pole, branch or shepherd's hook. Roamwild hanging brackets and the PestOff Bird Feeding Station give this clearance. Placement is the cause of almost every "squirrels still got on" report.
Most weight-activated feeders hang all their ports on one spring, so every port closes when a squirrel lands and the tension has to be adjusted by hand. The PestOff 2.0 closes only the loaded port and needs no adjustment. BWD Magazine's independent test found the PestOff admits cardinals and red-bellied woodpeckers while excluding grackles, mourning doves and squirrels.
Woman's Day listed the PestOff 2.0 among "12 Bird Feeders That Will Thwart Even the Craftiest Squirrels" (August 2024). BWD Magazine tested it in its Nov/Dec 2019 "Well-Equipped Birder" column.
The PestOff Promise: if you have followed the hanging instructions and squirrels still get to the seed, contact us and we will make it right. Problem Solved.
