LG SHB-G1 Automatic Backup Device
The Automatic Backup Device is the piece that turns an LG Prime+ system into a true backup power source. Add it to an SHB-G1 inverter and Prime battery setup and LG's own documentation describes the result as partial or whole-home backup — the alternative Arbitrage Solution swaps this device for a smart meter and skips backup power in favor of self-consumption savings.
LG backs the Automatic Backup Device with the same 10-year warranty it puts behind the inverter and battery when the three are installed together.
