Sacramento's Deftones built one of the most devoted cult followings in heavy music by consistently rewarding fans who dug deeper than the singles, and this collection pulls back the curtain on that instinct. Their cover choices alone tell you everything about the band's DNA, ranging from The Smiths to Sade to Lynyrd Skynyrd, making clear that Chino Moreno and company were always operating from a far wider sonic palette than their alt-metal peers.
