Released in 1994 on Epitaph Records, Smash arrived at the exact moment punk was clawing its way back into the mainstream, and The Offspring's Southern California aggression hit harder and faster than anyone expected. Tracks like "Come Out and Play" and "Self Esteem" became inescapable without the band ever compromising the raw, stripped-down energy that made them a fixture in the underground scene.
