Recorded in December 1963 and released the following year, this session caught Morgan at the peak of his hard bop powers, surrounded by a Blue Note dream band including Joe Henderson, Barry Harris, Bob Cranshaw, and Billy Higgins. The title track's unlikely crossover success helped pull Blue Note back from financial trouble and introduced a generation of listeners to the label's deep catalog.
