HyperReef Gen 2 LED – High-End Reef Lighting Without the High-End Price

At Reef Supplies Canada, we know performance matters, but so does value. The HyperReef Gen 2 delivers the perfect balance between advanced LED technology and affordability, making high-end reef lighting accessible without compromise. Built on the success of the original release in 2020, this upgraded generation brings meaningful improvements through extensive testing, real-world feedback, and refined engineering.

Designed for hobbyists who want more than basic “black box” lighting, the HyperReef Gen 2 offers optimized spectrum, improved optics, enhanced control, and superior thermal management—all at a price point that makes sense.

Optimized Spectrum for Coral Growth & Color

The HyperReef Gen 2 features a carefully tuned spectrum to support coral health, growth, and vibrant coloration:

Enhanced UV and violet spectrum for maximum fluorescence and color pop across SPS, LPS, and soft corals
Broader blue spectrum aligned with chlorophyll absorption for efficient photosynthesis and energy production
Rebalanced red spectrum to support coral growth while maintaining a natural visual balance

This refined spectrum ensures your corals thrive while looking their absolute best.

Wide Spread with Even PAR Distribution

A completely redesigned optical system delivers exceptional light spread and consistency:

Custom lens eliminates hot spots directly under the fixture
Frosted finish improves color blending and removes disco-ball effect
Expanded 120° output (up from 90° in Gen 1) for wider, more even coverage
Strong, consistent PAR across up to 3 feet of tank space

The result is uniform lighting ideal for demanding SPS systems as well as mixed reefs.

Advanced Cooling & Heat Management

Performance is nothing without reliability. The HyperReef Gen 2 is engineered to run efficiently and quietly:

Smart variable-speed fan adjusts automatically based on temperature and intensity
Fan remains off at low output for silent operation
Integrated CNC-machined heatsink with airflow channels and micro-fin design
Maximized heat dissipation for long-term LED performance and lifespan

Highly Customizable Control Modes (Controller sold Separately)

Dial in your lighting exactly how you want it:

Manual Mode for instant spectrum and intensity adjustments
Easy Set for quick and simple schedule configuration
Pro Set for advanced control with up to 8 time points, including smooth sunrise and sunset transitions

Efficiency-Focused LED Performance

Instead of overdriving fewer LEDs, the HyperReef Gen 2 uses more LEDs at lower power:

Operates LEDs at reduced current for higher efficiency
Minimizes heat production and energy waste
Extends LED lifespan while maintaining strong PAR output
Less than 10% of energy lost as heat

This approach ensures consistent performance while keeping long-term costs down—something Reef Supplies Canada prioritizes for every reefer.
