Wahoo KICKR CORE 2

Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 Smart Trainer

The Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 Smart Trainer makes a simple start to riding indoors, a smart trainer that comes with an 11-speed 11-28 cassette already fitted. New color-coded legs go on with four bolts, giving a quick build that stays stable. Resistance tops out at 1,800 watts with power accurate to +/-2%, and simulated climbs go to 16%. Integrated WiFi brings automatic firmware updates and Race Mode, which sends power data up to 10 times faster for sharper response in hard accelerations.

As your training grows, the CORE 2 grows with it. It works with Zwift Cog and Click for virtual shifting, and its KICKR Bridge passes heart rate and controller data through to your training app, cutting down on pairing conflicts.

Inside the CORE 2

How it works

Precision flywheel technology
The flywheel works with control algorithms for a ride that feels realistic, measures accurately and stays quiet. Connected to an app or GPS bike computer, resistance follows the software or route on its own.
1800 W
Race Mode
Over WiFi, the power broadcast rises from once a second to up to ten times a second, updating with every flywheel revolution. Small peaks in a sprint or an attack are no longer averaged away.
1 Hz to 10 Hz
KICKR Bridge
Heart rate monitors and other controllers stream through the trainer to your training app, so fewer devices compete for a connection, a help for Apple TV riders in particular.
Updated LED system
Multi-color LEDs on the housing show connection status, firmware update activity and which features are on, at a glance from the saddle.

  • Trainer weight 30 lb (13.6 kg)
  • Maximum rider weight 250 lb (113 kg)

Drivetrain fit

Matching your bike to the cassette

Out of the box, the CORE 2 suits Shimano HG freehubs (the part of the hub the cassette slides onto) for 8 to 12-speed cassettes, and the fitted 11-28 cassette even runs with a 12-speed chain. SRAM XD/XDR and Campagnolo drivetrains work with a replaceable freehub body.

  • Hubs: 130/135 mm quick release, 12x142 and 12x148 thru axle
  • SRAM 13-speed compatible; Campagnolo N3W 13-speed is not
  • Not compatible with Shimano Micro Spline
  • Stock cassette not compatible with Shimano CUES or LinkGlide
