This leather bookmark is engraved with the antique art of a kraken with a sailor in its tentacles. The original print of the artwork listed it as an octopus attacking a sailor but the giant octopus has later been used to illustrate what the mythical sea monster likely looks like. We make each bookmark ourselves here in Minnesota, USA from hand selected leather.

Each bookmark is made in house from hand selected veggie tanned cow leather. The back is unfinished leather with the grain from the leather visible. See the photos above to see what that looks like. 

This is a historical bookmark, meaning the illustration is adapted from a book that is over 100 years old. By adapting old and largely forgotten art it gives the work new life to be appreciated once more for years to come.
