The Grape Vine Statue follows the irregular path of a gnarled vine, its trunk bending into a spreading canopy of leaves, with clusters of grapes hanging below. Hand-cast in metal and finished throughout in gold leaf, the vine reaches unevenly to one side, resisting symmetry the way a real vine does. A polished Carrara marble base sets off the textured metalwork above, and a felted bottom protects the surface below.
