I think one of the favourite animal facts I know is that otters hold hands when they sleep so one of them doesn't drift away. The cuteness! So I figured it'd be cute to have a pair of otters holding a heart between them. However the pattern is designed so you can omit the heart and just have them hold hands if that makes your quilty heart happy!
