First Team Tempest™ Portable Basketball Goal
The First Team Tempest is a commercial-grade portable basketball goal designed for gymnasiums, fieldhouses, schools, colleges, athletic facilities, and other courts where serious competitive basketball is played. It combines a regulation-size 42″ x 72″ tempered glass backboard with an adjustable rim height from 10′ down to 6′ and a compact 66″ boom extension.
The Tempest is not a typical residential portable basketball hoop. Its heavy-duty base, competition backboard, breakaway rim, full safety padding, and non-marking wheels are designed for demanding indoor facilities. One person can roll the system into position and set it up for play.
Tempest vs. Hurricane: What's the Difference?
One of the most common questions we receive is how the Tempest compares with the First Team Hurricane portable basketball goal. The two systems are very similar in overall application and construction. The biggest differences for most buyers are boom length and price.
The Tempest provides a 66″ boom extension from the base toward the backboard, while the Hurricane provides a 96″ (8-foot) extension. If your facility requires the additional clearance of an 8-foot extension, the Hurricane is generally the better fit. If you do not need that additional extension, the Tempest provides a more compact and economical competition-style portable system.

Floor Tie-Down Options
The Tempest is available in three configurations. The standard Tempest Triumph is intended for installations where rear hold-down kits are not required. The Triumph-ST configuration adds tie-down hardware for standard floors, while the Triumph-FL configuration is designed for floating athletic floors. Warranty Coverage
Lifetime Superior Warranty. First Team's Superior Warranty covers damage or failure caused by basketball activity or related contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism, normal weather/UV wear, and other manufacturer exclusions are not covered.

Freight & Delivery Information
- This item ships via LTL Freight due to size and heavy weight (approx. shipping weight of 1,550 lbs., as listed by First Team).
- Unloading Requirement: A forklift is required for unloading at the time of delivery.
- Delivery address must be accessible by a commercial freight truck.
- Please inspect all packages thoroughly upon arrival for any shipping damage prior to signing the delivery receipt.
