OPST Commando Groove — Dual-Density Skagit Heads for Elevated Swing Control

Meet the OPST Commando Groove — the latest evolution in the Commando family and your new secret weapon for controlled swings, deeper presentations, and precise fly control in complex water.

Designed by Skagit pioneer Ed Ward, the Commando Groove delivers the same proven taper and casting performance as the original Commando Head — now in a dual-density Floating/Intermediate configuration that takes your swing game to the next level.

Why Choose the Commando Groove?

Dual-Density Control
With a floating rear third and intermediate-density front, the Commando Groove sinks your head and tip below surface chop and conflicting currents — slowing your swing and improving presentation. Your fly stays in the strike zone longer, where it counts.

More Natural Swings in Tricky Water
By cutting through surface tension, the Groove gives you better line control, more consistent depth, and improved swing tempo — especially in variable flows or when dealing with wind, eddies, and surface drag.

Trusted Taper, Proven Power
Same short, powerful Commando taper designed for tight casting spaces, bulky flies, and water-loaded Skagit casts. Trusted by pros, optimized for results.

Versatile Grain Range
Available in sizes from 200 grains to 475 grains, the Commando Groove is dialed for everything from trout spey to steelhead and salmon applications.
