A hag stone is a natural rock with a hole through the middle carved out by water. Folklore says looking through the hole lets you see fairies, spirits, or hidden magical realms. People historically hung them over doors or bedposts, or wore them as necklaces, to ward off evil spirits, nightmares, and curses.
