The chunky cushion cut bezel engagement ring frames a cushion-cut diamond in a smooth, continuous collar of gold, so the soft, rounded shape of the stone takes centre stage. Each ring is handmade in our Ditchling workshop in Sussex, with close attention paid to proportion, balance and wearability; the bezel does more than frame the diamond, protecting it with a secure, practical finish that stands up to everyday wear. For this design we look for a lab-grown cushion of around 2.57ct, D colour, VS1 clarity, with excellent polish and symmetry — and because elongated cushions come in such a range of shapes and ratios, our designers and gemmologists hand-select each stone to sit as close to this spec as possible.
