Even slabs, every time. Our clay thickness guides sit either side of your clay as you roll, so your rolling pin or texture roller stops at exactly the right depth. No more thin spots, wonky edges or slabs that crack in the kiln because one side was thinner than the other.
Precision made in our Dorset workshop and sold as a pair, in nine thicknesses from 2mm to 10mm.
Which thickness do I need?
- 2mm to 3mm: polymer clay earrings, pendants and fine jewellery
- 4mm: air dry clay ornaments, coasters and small dishes
- 5mm to 7mm: pottery slabs for mugs, tiles, plates and planters
- 8mm to 10mm: large platters, wall pieces and chunky handbuilt forms
Why makers love them
- Consistent thickness edge to edge, so pieces dry and fire evenly
- Perfect partner for our clay texture rollers, for crisp, even pattern
- Guides connect end to end for longer slabs
- Lightweight, rigid and easy to wipe clean
- Works with pottery clay, polymer clay and air dry clay
How to use
- Wedge or condition your clay and flatten it by hand
- Place a guide either side of the clay, slightly closer together than your rolling pin is long
- Roll from the centre outwards until the pin rests on both guides
- Texture, cut and build as normal
