Hand-Pinched English Porcelain Dessert Plate with White Glaze & Bow
All plates are hand-cut, pinched, and shaped like a sculptural piece. Once formed, they are slowly dried to prevent warping, then sponged to refine the form. When dry, they spend 24 hours in the kiln for a bisque firing at 1800 degrees F. After cooling and removal from the bisque fire, the pieces are gently hand-sanded and sponge-bathed.
The art is approached in a painterly manner. Careful mark-making balances the playful intention behind each work of art. The base is hand-signed. The piece is painted with a white glaze and then fired in a glaze firing for another 24 hours at 2300 degrees F. The period of time from start to finish for one plate is about one month in the making.
Hand-washing is recommended for your future heirloom.
