Our 11×17 poster printing is designed for artists and photographers who want to sell or display their work professionally. Produced on heavyweight archival cardstock, these 11×17 art prints deliver a premium tactile feel and long-lasting quality — ideal for galleries, conventions, retail shops, and high-end portfolio pieces. The 11×17 size hits a popular sweet spot: large enough to make visual impact, small enough to fit standard frames and ship affordably to buyers.
Choosing the Right Finish for Your Art
The finish you choose shapes how your poster or art print reads in a buyer's hands and on their wall. Gloss deepens contrast and makes colors pop — a strong choice for digital illustration, anime and pop-culture art, and photography with rich saturation. Matte eliminates glare and reproduces subtle tonal work cleanly, which is why it's the most popular pick for fine art reproductions and mixed-media pieces. Textured Matte adds a tactile, fine-art-paper feel that elevates watercolor, gouache, and traditional illustration, giving prints a collectible, gallery-grade presence. When in doubt, Matte is the safest all-around choice; Textured Matte is the upgrade for traditional media.
Built for Resale
Every order ships with free blind shipping — no Printkeg branding, invoices, or marketing inserts — so posters and prints arrive ready to hand directly to your buyers or stock on a retail shelf. Heavyweight archival cardstock holds up to handling at busy convention tables and survives transit without curling or creasing. Because 11×17 fits standard frames and mailing tubes, it's an easy size to fulfill for online sales, gallery consignment, and wholesale orders alike. Bulk pricing scales down as quantities go up, leaving healthy margins whether you're selling signed limited editions or open-edition prints at a market booth.
11×17 Poster Printing FAQ
Are 11×17 posters and art prints archival?
Yes — all three of our cardstock options are archival, acid-free papers printed with HP Indigo ElectroInk. Independent testing rates these prints to last up to 200 years in dark storage and up to 54 years on indoor display.
Will 11×17 posters fit standard frames?
Yes — 11×17 (also called tabloid size) is a standard frame size in the United States. Buyers can find 11×17 frames at most home goods stores, craft shops, and online retailers, which makes 11×17 a popular size for online sales where buyers want to frame their purchase themselves.
What's the difference between Matte and Textured?
Matte Card has a smooth, uncoated surface that's ideal for most artwork — clean and refined without distracting texture. Textured Matte has a felted, fine-art-paper character that adds tactile depth — particularly good for watercolor reproductions, hand-illustrated work, or designs that benefit from the look of premium fine art paper. If you want your print to feel like traditional fine art paper, choose Textured Matte. If you want a clean professional look, choose Matte.
Can I order metallic or pearl finishes?
Metallic and pearl finishes are available for special editions and collectible prints. These specialty finishes have unique characteristics that work especially well for limited-run releases. Contact us at contact@printkeg.com before ordering to discuss specialty finish availability, pricing, and turnaround.
Can I print multiple different designs in one order?
Yes — 11×17 posters and art prints qualify for our multiple file policy. You can upload up to five unique designs per quantity for a small fee while still taking advantage of bulk pricing. For example, select a quantity of 100 and print 20 of five different designs. Specify the number of files in the "How Many Designs?" field when placing your order.
How does 11×17 compare to other poster and art print sizes?
11×17 sits in the middle of our poster and art print lineup. Smaller sizes like 8×10 and 11×14 are more popular for high-volume convention sales because of the lower price point and easier transport. 11×17 offers more visual impact and is particularly popular for limited edition releases, framed wall art, and gallery exhibition pieces. Larger sizes (16×20+) shift more toward statement wall art and gallery installations.
What resolution should my artwork be?
Supply artwork at 300 DPI at the full 11×17 size for the sharpest reproduction. Lower-resolution files can print soft or pixelated, especially on fine detail and text. If you're enlarging a smaller file, our team will review it before printing and flag any quality concerns before your order moves forward.
Do I need to add bleed to my files?
For full-bleed prints — where color or imagery runs to the edge — extend your design 0.125" past all four edges and keep important elements at least 0.25" inside the trim line. If your design has a white border, bleed isn't required. When in doubt, send your file and our pre-production review will catch any issues.
Do you ship rolled or flat?
11×17 posters and prints typically ship flat in protective packaging to ensure they arrive without bends or creases. For very large quantities or special requests, contact us before ordering to discuss alternate shipping options.
Is shipping really blind and unbranded?
Yes — every order ships with free blind shipping. There's no Printkeg branding, no invoices, and no marketing inserts in the package, so prints arrive resale-ready whether you're shipping to a buyer, a gallery, or a retail partner.
