  Animals Want To Understand and we as pet owners know they do! We also are guilty of sometimes forgetting to explain something new to them and end up causing some preventable issues.
  
  A Classic Example... And What You Need To Avoid:
  
  HERE'S THE PROBLEM:
  - After surgery or during the initial fitting, the dog's first logical reaction is nonacceptance of something new. A dog that wakes up from anesthetic is in pain, and if the first time they are wearing the OptiVizor on their head is after surgery, they can easily think "This new vizor is to blame for my new pain - so if I tear it off, the pain will stop!"
  - They will probably have this same thought for a few days, especially when the dog also is blind and does not see what happens.
  HERE'S THE ANSWER:
  - Before the first fitting, give your dog time and let them sniff and rub their face against it. Tell them why it is good!
  - Blind dogs: Remember that their instincts are quite heightened by something that would be new on their head. Always tell them what you're doing!
  - Put the OptiVizor into the dog's bed, so that he/she gets used to the idea.
  - Repeat the above and only then start fitting the OptiVizor to your dog.
  - Praise them and tell them how smart they look.
  - And don't forget to give them their favorite treats as a reward for their cooperation!
  IMPORTANT! When fitting the OptiVizor on your dog for the first time, make sure it is closed tight enough around the neck so the dog can not slip it off to the front! Remember - if he/she succeeds once, they will try it again and again...

  Important Fit and Assistance
  - We strongly recommend that the OptiVizor only be worn if it fits your dog correctly with sufficient eye clearance to avoid any possible eye injuries.
  - If needed, take several pictures with the OptiVizor on your dog: a front view and each side view while taking the pictures parallel (not up or down angles) and send them (as attachments) to info@protectivepetsolutions.com or fill out the Sizing Help Form located on the Sizing tab. We’re happy to help with fit and adjustment!
  Cleaning
  - Clean with a wet cloth, mild liquid soap, rinse and dry well with a soft cloth. Do NOT soak it in a solution or the clear Vizor will absorb the color of the solution turning it cloudy.
  Surgery / Eye Medication
  - EYE MEDICATION: Loosen the chin strap only and lift up the Vizor, similar to a Welder’s mask. When done giving medication bring it back down to re-secure the chin straps.
  - PREPARING FOR ELECTIVE SURGERY: It is optimal to have the OPTIVIZOR™ ahead of time to let your dog see, sniff and apply, to get them used to it. So, after surgery, they will have reduced stress as they have learned to associate wearing it as a positive experience, including getting treats 😊!
  Cold Weather
  - Cold Weather: The OptiVizor material is rated to withstand temperatures down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It will stiffen in colder weather when not on your dog. Simply use a hair dryer or safely use hot water for a minute to soften and reshape prior to putting on your dog.

  - All orders are generally shipped via United States Postal Service. Based on the size of the order, buyers will have the choice of selecting Priority Express, Priority, or First Class mail.
  - Orders placed by 12:00 PM ET (Monday - Friday) will be shipped the same day.
  - We ship the OptiVizor to the United States, Canada and Mexico only. If you live outside of these regions, please email us at info@protectivepetsolutions.com for further assistance.
  - (USPS or UPS) Express Orders placed by 12:00 PM ET will be shipped the same day. NOTE: Depending on the part of the country you reside, USPS Priority Express service is 1 to 2 days. USPS does not guarantee overnight delivery to all destinations for express orders.
  - Orders placed on a Weekend, Holiday, or after the above cut-off times will be shipped out the next business day.
