The Jobe Vortex Bottom Fill Float Valve is a high-flow water trough float valve for the automatic filling of livestock troughs and water storage tanks. It's configured for underwater mounting only, side or bottom entry, and Jobe rates the Vortex range at 600 L/min (about 158 gpm).

A tapered float on a nylon cord opens a small pilot valve when the water level drops, which activates the main diaphragm valve. It shuts down slowly to help minimize water hammer, and holds your water level within a 3/4"–2-1/2" range that increases as inlet pressure increases.

Jobe calls the Vortex a good choice wherever high flow and compact, robust, non-corrosive construction are needed. The valve unscrews from the tail for easy valve seal access, the float sets by hand with no tools, a built-in switch locks it off, and a port accepts Jobe's FrostPro anti-freeze device (sold separately). Available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" inlets.

Can it be mounted above water?
No. The Bottom Fill is for underwater mounting only (side or bottom entry). For above-water mounting, Jobe makes the standard Vortex Float Valve.

Is underwater mounting allowed where I am?
Jobe recommends checking that underwater mounting is allowed by your local regulations before installing.

Need a smaller inlet?
For underwater mounting in 1/2" to 1-1/4" sizes, Jobe's Megaflow Trough Valve is the smaller option.
