The Jobe Vortex Float Valve is a high-flow float valve for the automatic filling of water storage tanks, livestock troughs and cisterns. Jobe rates the Vortex at 600 L/min (about 158 gpm), and calls it a good choice wherever maximum flow, compact, robust, non-corrosive construction and variable float levels are needed.
The float operates a small pilot valve, which in turn operates the main diaphragm valve. It shuts down slowly to help minimize water hammer, and holds your water level within a 3/4"–2-1/2" range that increases as inlet pressure increases.
The Vortex is configured for above-water mounting — top entry with or without an extension — and mounts horizontally or vertically. The valve unscrews from its tail for easy valve seal access, the float sets by hand with no tools, a built-in switch locks it off, and a port accepts Jobe's FrostPro anti-freeze device (sold separately).
Available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" inlets, and built from corrosion-resistant materials with 304 stainless steel hardware.

Jobe's high-flow rating for fast refills of large tanks and troughs.
Easy Seal Access
The valve unscrews from the tail for quick access to the valve seal.
Gradual Shut-Off
Shuts down slowly to help minimize water hammer in your lines.
Tool-Free Adjustment & Lock Switch
Set the float position by hand, and lock the valve off when you need to.

Can the Vortex be mounted underwater?
No. The Vortex is configured for above-water mounting only. Jobe makes a separate underwater-mount version of the Vortex.
How do I prevent back-siphoning?
Jobe recommends mounting the valve at least two inlet diameters above the overflow. Some mounting positions may not comply with local regulations, so check yours.
Vortex or Topaz?
The Vortex is Jobe's larger high-flow valve in 1-1/4" to 2" inlets. For 3/4" to 1-1/4" troughs, see the Jobe Topaz Float Valve.
Big inlets, big flow, built to last — the Jobe Vortex keeps large tanks and troughs full.
