Even Joints Across A Whole Porcelain Patio, Without Eyeballing Every Tile

Porcelain shows everything, and an uneven joint line is the first thing anyone notices. Techniseal makes their tile spacer in two materials for two different priorities. The rubber spacer guarantees even gaps and adds noise reduction properties. The plastic spacer guarantees even gaps and adds stability, with a newly optimized 10 mm height. Plastic: 4 mm (5/32 in) joint, 10 mm tall, 2.5 in diameter. Rubber: 5 mm (3/16 in) joint, 3 in diameter. 100 per box.

Why Contractors Ask for Techniseal Tile Spacers by Name

Setting porcelain by eye works for the first few tiles and drifts after that. By the far side of a patio the joints tell the whole story.

  • They guarantee even space gaps between tiles. That is the core job, and on porcelain it is the difference between a professional install and an obvious one.
  • The rubber version reduces noise. On a balcony, terrace, or any tile over a hard structural deck, that is a real benefit rather than a marketing line.
  • The plastic version adds stability and comes in a newly optimized 10 mm height. It sets a 4 mm (5/32 in) joint; the rubber version sets a 5 mm (3/16 in) joint.
  • They save time and effort. Techniseal makes that claim for both versions, and anyone who has set a large porcelain field without spacers knows why.
  • The rubber version works indoors and outdoors, so one product covers an interior floor and the terrace it opens onto.
  • Made from quality material.

Spacer quantity depends on your tile format and layout. Smaller tiles mean more intersections and more spacers per square foot. Work out your tile count and intersections before ordering rather than guessing by area.

Where Techniseal Tile Spacers Works

Anywhere porcelain is being set to a consistent joint.

  • Outdoor porcelain paver patios and terraces
  • Porcelain pool surrounds
  • Balconies and rooftop terraces, where the rubber version helps with noise
  • Interior porcelain floors
  • Large format tile installations
  • Pedestal and adhered porcelain systems
  • Any job where joint consistency will be judged up close

Where Techniseal Tile Spacers Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

Match the spacer to your specified joint width. The plastic version sets a 4 mm (5/32 in) joint and the rubber version a 5 mm (3/16 in) joint, so confirm that suits your design before ordering.

Spacers set the gap; they do not level the tile. Use a leveling system where flatness across large format tile is critical.

Set tiles on the spacers with each tile edge against the spacer tab. Break off the tabs at the perimeter so the edge restraint sits tight.

Read the current technical data sheet for the sizing available in each material.

How to Use Techniseal Tile Spacers

Follow your porcelain installation system instructions. This is the shape of the job:

  1. Confirm your specified joint width and choose the matching spacer.
  2. Set the first tiles and establish your reference lines.
  3. Place spacers at each intersection as you lay, keeping them consistent across the field.
  4. Check the joint line against your reference regularly rather than only at the end of a row.
  5. Set tiles on the spacers with each tile edge against the spacer tab, and break off the tabs at the perimeter so the edge restraint sits tight.
  6. Joint with Techniseal NextGel Porcelain once the tiles are set and the surface is clean.

Check your lines as you go, not at the end. A drift of a millimeter per tile is invisible at tile three and glaring at tile thirty.
