A sponge that ships flat and pops up when it's wet. Plastno's biodegradable cellulose sponge arrives about a fifth the size of a regular foam sponge, then expands under water into a soft, thirsty sponge for dishes and counters. All plant fiber, no plastic foam, so it wipes up messes without leaving microplastic behind.

Key features:

• 3 pop-up cellulose sponges per pack, 3.75 x 3.75 in
• Ships flat and expands in water
• Biodegradable in soil, no polyurethane foam or polyester
• Dishwasher-safe on the top rack, or boil to sanitize

Best for:

• Replacing foam sponges that shed microplastics
• Small kitchens and renters, since a pack stores nearly flat
• Daily dishes, counters, and glassware
• Non-stick cookware and finishes a rough sponge would scratch
