Arabica Coffee Plant is one of the most genuinely interesting houseplants you can grow. Its glossy, dark green leaves have a beautiful wavy texture and a freshness that makes it stand out in any collection. Grow it long enough in the right conditions and it will reward you with clusters of fragrant white flowers followed by colorful coffee cherries — the actual beans that make up a significant portion of the world's coffee supply. It is a conversation piece, a living piece of history, and a surprisingly easy plant to care for indoors.

Good for beginners? Yes. Coffee Plant is more adaptable than its exotic reputation suggests. It tolerates average home conditions well and is forgiving of occasional missed waterings.

Safe for cats and dogs? Coffee plants are considered toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.

Light needs: Bright indirect light is ideal. More light encourages faster growth and a higher chance of flowering. It tolerates medium light but growth slows significantly. Avoid direct harsh afternoon sun.

Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Enjoys higher humidity when possible. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Can be moved outdoors in warmer months to encourage growth. Repot when roots begin circling the pot.
