Omama Abu Rass comes from Tal Al-Rumman in Jordan. “Rumman” means pomegranate in Arabic, and the town is known as the Hill of Pomegranate — famous for the fruit that gives it its name.
Omama started her business after completing the three levels of jewellery-making at the Turquoise Mountain Institute. She named her brand Julnar, after the pomegranate flower, seeing herself as one of the flowers of her hometown.
Jewellery-making has transformed Omama’s personality and boosted her self-confidence. She loves the creative freedom it gives her and admires how no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
