Flower thread is 100% cotton that is NOT mercerized. Because of that it has a matte finish and is a tiny little bit fuzzy. Flower thread is similar in size to #12 Perle cotton. Flower thread is often used in cross-stitch but it is absolutely suitable to use with wool and in embroidery where you want a matte, non-reflective thread.

This thread is hand dyed by Painters Thread and dye lots will vary.

Painters is in the process of changing from skeins to spools. There is more thread in the skeins (54.7 yards) vs. the spools (43 yards). I can't promise which you will get, skeins or spools, because I can't control what is sent to me. Currently, the price for both is the same.
