Hot Biscuits Amaranthus
Hot Biscuits is a golden-bronze amaranthus (Amaranthus paniculatus), sold in 40, 80 or 120 stems on 70 cm stems. It branches into feathery upright plumes rather than trailing ropes, in a warm caramel-bronze that sits between gold and brown — a colour almost nothing else in the catalogue produces naturally. Amaranthus is unscented, arrives fully formed rather than in bud, and holds 7 to 10 days. It also air-dries well, so a client can keep it after the event. PetalDriven ships amaranthus farm-direct and overnight anywhere in the US with free shipping, unarranged and ready to use, at wholesale prices with no tax ID required.

Shipping Info
-
Free US shipping on every order.
- Ships FedEx Priority Overnight for next-day delivery.
- Pick your delivery date on the calendar when you add amaranthus to your cart. The calendar shows the next available date.
- Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday. We recommend Tuesday–Thursday, since a Friday arrival leaves no working day to sort out a problem before a weekend event.
- Schedule delivery so the amaranthus arrive 1–2 days before your event. It arrives fully formed rather than in bud, so it needs no opening time — just a long drink.
- The trailing strands tangle and snap easily. Unpack the box flat and separate the stems by hand rather than pulling a bunch out by the tops.
Care and Processing Instructions
- Unbox as soon as it arrives and get the stems into water. Amaranthus arrives thirsty and the foliage shows it first.
-
Strip the leaves — all of them, or near enough. This is the single most important step with amaranthus. The foliage wilts hours before the tassels do, and a stem that looks dead is usually just a stem with limp leaves still attached on a perfectly good flower. Take them off and the problem disappears.
- Fill a clean bucket with at least 4 inches of cool water and add flower food if you have it. Amaranthus drinks heavily and wants more water than most stems, not less.
- Recut about 1 inch off each stem at an angle with sharp shears.
-
Keep the tassels above the rim of the bucket. If the ropes fold down into the water they bruise and rot where they sit.
-
Do not refrigerate. Amaranthus is a warm-season crop and cold storage damages it. Keep it cool and shaded at room temperature instead, away from heaters, drafts, and direct sun.
- Change the water daily and recut every day or two. Amaranthus fouls water faster than most stems.
- To dry it afterward, hang a bunch upside down somewhere dark and airy for two to three weeks. It dries well and holds its shape, so it's worth telling clients they can keep it.
100% Satisfaction Guarantee
Every amaranthus order is backed by PetalDriven's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If your stems arrive damaged or in poor condition, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos and your order number, and we'll make it right with a refund or exchange.
Limp foliage on arrival is normal and is not a defect — the leaves wilt long before the flower does. Please strip the leaves and give the stems a few hours in deep water before sending photos. Most stems that look finished in the box are fine once the foliage is off.
Email info@petaldriven.com or call 1-888-738-2529. To qualify, get your stems into deep water as soon as they arrive and follow the care instructions above. Claims submitted without photos or after the 48-hour window can't be accepted, and natural variation in colour or tassel length isn't considered damage. See our full refund policy.
