This beautiful trivet is woven by hand by Clair Murphy in Wales, using rush wild harvested from along the River Isle in Somerset, England. Murphy gathers the rush herself, wading into the water, and partially dries the stalks in the sun before weaving them into various forms. A perfect heat-resistant surface for hot pans or roasting dishes, it also doubles as a resting place for water pitchers, teapots, vases, and more. A visual complement to Alice's Kitchen Basket, which is also made by Murphy.
