This limited edition wood bowl is intended to ritualize a meal enjoyed solo. It has an elegant, open shape anchored by a base wide enough to make it practical for daily use: the perfect size for a grain bowl or a salad for one. Each bowl is handmade by Montreal-based woodworker Elise McLauchlan using solid maple sustainably sourced from British Columbia. Mclauchlan begins by turning each form on the lathe, before using a series of tools to craft the external shape of the bowl. The unique texture on the outside of of the bowl is the result of a meditative session of hand-carving—each bowl is a unique work of art.
