Part weapon, part pipe, part peace offering. The spontoon pipe tomahawk is one of the most unusual pieces from 18th and 19th century North America. It took its name from the spontoon, a spear-headed half-pike that European infantry officers carried as a badge of rank. Traders fitted that spear-point blade to a tomahawk with a tobacco bowl on the back, so a single piece could be used to fight or to seal a deal. Pipe tomahawks were traded and given as diplomatic gifts, and they became symbols of both war and peace.

Our version keeps the classic spontoon shape. The stainless steel head has the traditional cut-out heart and curling, flourished points, with a polished chrome pipe bowl on the reverse. The wooden haft is hollow like the originals and runs through as the stem. It's banded with black leather straps and brass studs, and has a diamond-shaped metal inlay at the grip. The edge is blunt, so this is a decorative piece for display, not for use.
