The Mayfair 6ft Super King Solid Walnut Bed Frame brings together the rich warmth of natural timber, refined craftsmanship and timeless design. Its broad solid-panel headboard leans back at a gentle, sleigh-inspired angle with softly rounded detailing. A low-profile footboard with rounded and chamfered corners completes the design, creating a clean, contemporary silhouette.

The headboard, side rails, footboard and legs are made from 100% solid walnut: genuine solid timber, not a veneer or walnut-effect finish. Each walnut surface is sealed with a clear protective lacquer, then polished, lightly sanded and oiled to achieve a smooth, refined finish. This process enhances the natural depth, warmth and character of the walnut and brings out its distinctive grain. As with all genuine solid timber, variations in colour and grain make every Mayfair bed unique.

Beneath its walnut exterior, the Mayfair frame is constructed entirely from solid wood. Solid oak is used for the slat supporting rails, centre bar, centre support blocks and centre support legs, while the lower rear panel of the headboard is solid pine. These supporting parts are finished with a clear protective lacquer.

At the foot end, chunky 8cm × 8cm walnut legs raise the bed above the floor, creating a lighter, more open appearance. Its balanced proportions combine a reassuringly solid construction with the understated elegance of natural walnut, making it well suited to both contemporary and traditional bedrooms.

Adjustable Headboard

The Mayfair headboard offers three height settings: 1075mm, 1105mm and 1140mm from the floor. This allows you to tailor its position to suit the depth of your mattress, so the walnut panel sits at a comfortable height for sitting up in bed.

Mattress Support

Every Mayfair bed frame is supplied with independent posture sprung wooden slats as standard. Each slat has a gentle curve that responds naturally to your body weight and movement, providing a comfortable balance of cushioning and support for your mattress. A centre bar adds stability, while the open slatted construction encourages airflow beneath the mattress.

For those who prefer a firmer, more traditional foundation, solid pine flat slats are available in place of the standard sprung slats as an optional upgrade at an additional cost.

Built to Last

At The Oak Bed Store, we believe quality furniture should be made to last, and every Mayfair bed frame is backed by our 15-Year Workmanship Guarantee, reflecting our confidence in the quality, materials and construction of the furniture we sell.
