Misty Rose produces sweet apples with firm, crisp, juicy white flesh. The fruit is about 2½ to 3 inches across, usually with a heavy red wash over a light green background, and is suitable for fresh eating and storage.
It is University of Saskatchewan selection 4-11-48, associated with breeder Rick Sawatzky. Brookland is the recorded seed parent; the pollen parent is recorded as either Pioneer #10 or Minnesota 1728, rather than one confirmed parent.
Fruit ripened around September 4 in Saskatoon observations and tends to drop readily once ripe. The tree has vigorous, open growth and bears at shoot tips, an important distinction when pruning.
