Katalox, or Mexican Ebony, is one of the strongest woods in the world. It has a beautiful dark brown or purple heartwood with a stunning light brown sapwood contrast, making each katalox piece unique. Some pieces, like this one, have dots displaying in the sapwood. These were made by beetles which sadly killed the tree, but adds to the character of the crochet hook.

*See Materials Used for more details on the wood and how we acquire them.

Each piece is carefully measured and tested for quality and durability, but there may be minor imperfections.

We hope you enjoy working with this hook as much as we enjoyed creating it.
