The Autochron Panda Mecaquartz is a 38 mm steel chronograph with a matte white dial, three black CD-track counters, large luminous indexes and red racing accents, powered by the TMI VK67 meca-quartz chronograph with date. Maximum contrast, so every timing indication reads at a glance.
The design traces back to a 1970s Autochron prototype, a Nivada test piece believed to have been made in about 20 examples and never sold. The Panda keeps its unconventional spirit and racing proportions.
The vertically brushed 316L steel case has polished details, measures 12.65 mm thick and 44.3 mm lug to lug, and carries a signed crown embossed with the shield logo. Around it, the new aluminum bezel turns in one direction with 120 tactile clicks per revolution. A double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and 20 ATM water resistance, or 200 m, make it a chronograph for every day.
The meca-quartz movement keeps quartz time and runs the chronograph through a mechanical module: smooth sweep, instant reset, battery life of about three years.
