The Antarctic Erotic Gold is a 38 mm Swiss hand-wound watch with an 18K yellow gold-plated 316L stainless steel case, a domed white matt dial with gold applied indexes, and an animated caseback mechanism: two 18K gold-plated penguins set over an ice-blue floe, visible through the sapphire caseback. They only move when you wind the watch.
The penguin belongs to Nivada Grenchen's own history. The emblem was registered as a patent in 1965 and became a quiet signature engraved on the casebacks of vintage Antarctic models, inspired by mid-century polar expeditions. This edition redraws it from the original archival patent.
Inside, a modified Soprod P054 hand-wound movement drives both the hands and the animation, at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 42-hour power reserve. The case is shiny and brushed, 12.55 mm thick and 45 mm lug to lug, and water resistant to 10 ATM. A perforated racing leather strap in black or brown closes with an IP gold pin buckle engraved with the emblem.
