Hooked in wool, the Station Wagon Tree throw pillow features a Christmas tree. The wool is pulled through a backing until the design stands up off the surface in dense loops.

The layer a neutral room is missing. Repeat one of its colors somewhere else in the room and the whole arrangement locks together.

The red woody wagon crosses the cream ground with a green tree strapped to the roof, wood paneling picked out in tan and brown. Small and quiet. It works all winter in a lake house or a boy's room.

Each piece is hooked on a frame one loop at a time, which is why hooked wool has a depth a printed face cannot copy. Christmas designs are produced in limited runs each year, and wool is one of the few materials that outlasts the season it was bought for. Makes a good gift for a Christmas host, a newlywed couple, or a family collection that grows every year.
