Liftgate Service – Freight Delivery Assistance

Liftgate service is an additional freight delivery option designed to assist with loading or unloading heavy shipments when a loading dock or forklift is not available at the pickup or delivery location.

A liftgate is a hydraulic platform attached to the back of the delivery truck that allows the driver to safely lower freight from the truck bed to ground level, or lift freight from the ground onto the truck.

This service is typically required for locations such as residential addresses, small businesses, construction sites, or any location without proper dock-height loading facilities.

Important Service Limitations

Liftgate service provides ground-level delivery assistance only and should not be considered a full-service delivery. The service does not include:

• Bringing items inside a building, home, or business

• Unpacking, installation, assembly, or setup of freight

• Moving freight beyond the immediate curbside or ground-level drop-off point

• Transporting items to specific rooms, floors, or interior locations

The driver will lower the freight to ground level at the delivery point, and the customer is responsible for moving the shipment beyond that point.
