For packers who already have a breeching and breast collar, our Basic Sawbuck and Decker Pack Saddles provide a rugged, time-tested foundation for carrying loads in the backcountry.
The sawbuck design dates back to the early 1900s and has been passed down through generations of outfitters, ranchers, and wilderness packers. Its simple, durable construction has earned a reputation as one of the most reliable pack saddle designs ever developed.
Each saddle is handcrafted in small batches by skilled craftsmen exclusively for Mountain Ridge Gear using premium materials selected for strength, durability, and performance.
