Patriot EGT are proven in the highest forms of motorsports to deliver fast, accurate, and consistent data with high definition.

For consistent data across cylinders we recommend +/- .125" depth between cylinders for readings to be comparable.
Patriot EGTS are proven to be the quickest responding exhaust gas temperature sensors in motorsports. On and off the track these high speed sensors give more data and more closely represent the temperature of the combustion process.
This gives you or your tuner more information to help maximum power and performance safely.
Expect to see more data and higher maximum temperature readings by 150° - 300°F.
Patriot EGTS are currently on numerous engine dynos, greatly improving tuning decisions. Having them onboard your race car will complete the circle of data for the tuner.
Patriot EGTS are made with the most up to date manufacturing process, on state of the art equipment. All sensors are produced on custom fixtures to ensure consistency and reliability.
Patriot EGTS go through a 5 station quality control process where we test the heat up and cool down response time and the durability of the sensors.
•Noise Shielding
Patriot EGTS use shielded black type K thermocouple wire. This helps prevent electromagnetic interference and noisy data. The sensors have an internal ground for the shield drain wire which means no extra wire connections for you.
•Easy To Install
Patriot EGTS are very easy to install. No special calibration needed and sensors will work with any brand ECU or data logger. Designed to fit in 1/4” weld bungs. To maximize the benefits and speed of the Patriot EGTS close attention needs to be paid to the installation depth of the sensors.
Sensors need to be inline to the airflow of the exhaust and need to remain within 15° of the air flow direction. Once sensors have been run, it is important that they stay on the same side of the engine and the air flow hits the sensors from the same direction. The life span of the sensor will be dramatically shortened if subjected to airflow outside of these specifications.
•Durable
Patriot EGTS have been tested across all types of racing engines. They have proven to give fast reliable data for well over 50 runs at over 3000hp. Lower horse power levels will see longer sensor life. Rich or lean conditions do not damage the sensors.
•Affordable
Patriot EGTS cost you less by maximizing the data you get from each run or dyno pull. Low cost sensors can not give you the information needed to make tuning decisions because they are too slow and the events you are trying to adjust have already happened.
•High Definition
Patriot EGTS have an extremely fast response rate which leads to a higher definition temperature graph. This data you have been missing and makes it easier to identify rpm ranges or areas of the race track that you can improve your fuel curve and timing graph.

Patriot EGTS Installation
Patriot SpeedCo high speed temperature sensors are more sensitive and fragile than other thermocouples. Care must be taken to make sure you do not damage the sensor tip during installation.
Assemble the nut, stainless crimp collar and brass cone onto the sensor as shown in figure 1.
Pay attention to the direction of the stainless crimp collar. This is the piece that will lock onto the body of the sensor. The brass cone will not lock onto the sensor so be careful not to lose it if you remove a sensor.
DO NOT install the sensors too deep into the pipe. This will cause the sensor to heat soak quicker and slow the cool down response rate of the sensor.
Remove the headers from the engine so you can see how far each sensor is protruding into the pipe.
Make sure there are no burrs from drilling the sensor hole on the inside of the pipes. Even a small burr can effect the sensor reading.
Insert the sensor and set the sensor tip depth from the inside of the exhaust pipe.
Use a 3/16 (0.187”) drill or Allen wrench as a depth gauge. Partially torque the nut to hold slight pressure on the compression fitting while you get the depth right. See figure 2.
For best results and the most consistent data all of the sensor tips need to protrude the same distance into the airflow.
Torque the nut to a minimum of 140lb/in, this will lock the crimp collar onto the body of the sensor and permanently set the depth.
It is acceptable to torque the nut as high as 240-300lb/in or 20-25lb/ft but the chance of distorting the weld bung increases.
Please be aware that the brass cone will not lock to the body of the sensor like a standard compression fitting. Take care not to lose the cone if you remove the sensor for any reason.
The tip of the sensor MUST be inline with the air flow of the exhaust gas as shown in Figure 3, (+/-)15°.
The sensor has been designed to withstand the high pressure exhaust gas pulses when INLINE with the air flow (one leg of the sensor in front of the other). Deviation from this will decrease the lifespan of the sensor dramatically.
Do Not be concerned with the sensors being parallel to the cylinder head they need to be orientated so the tip is INLINE with the direction of the exhaust gas flow.
Do Not remove a sensor and install it on the opposite side of the engine.
Do Not turn the sensor 180° in the pipe and allow the exhaust gas to flow over the sensor from the opposite direction. This will dramatically reduce the life of the sensor.
On some applications you will need to rotate the sensor out of the way to access the spark plugs, if so remember to always rotate the sensor back so the tip is inline with the air flow.
The Tip is perpendicular to the bend in the sensor body so it is easy to visually inspect the alignment with the air flow without having to remove the header.
Patriot SpeedCo sensors are designed to work with any data logger or ECU.
There is no calibration needed but you should expect to see a higher exhaust temperature reading due to the fact that these sensors have a much quicker response time.
