Every great story needs characters. This one comes with a whole family.

The Tender Leaf Toys Duck Pond Set gives children a complete little world to play in - a cozy duck house, a garden pond with lily pads, a mum and dad duck, three fuzzy ducklings, a friendly frog, and a cluster of reeds to set the scene. Made from solid reclaimed rubberwood with vivid non-toxic painted details, it’s the kind of set that looks as good on a shelf as it does mid-story on the playroom floor.

Why Kids (and Parents) Love It

There’s a reason animal families captivate children so completely. Mum, dad, babies - it’s a structure children understand instinctively, and playing it out through characters builds empathy, narrative thinking, and emotional intelligence in ways that feel entirely like fun.

With 10 distinct pieces, this set gives children enough to work with without overwhelming them. The duck house becomes a home base. The pond becomes a stage. The frog becomes the unexpected visitor (or uncle/aunt) who changes the whole plot. Every piece has a role, and children find those roles naturally, no instructions needed.

It’s compact enough to take to grandma’s, set up on a coffee table, or tuck into a bookshelf between sessions. The reclaimed rubberwood construction means it holds up through the kind of enthusiastic daily use that really tests a toy, and the non-toxic paints keep every detail looking sharp.
