Phonograph is an artwork composed of a common brick in grey or black concrete with Minimalux appendages in polished stainless steel and aluminium. As part of the Common Parts series it refers subtly in form to the famous TP1 portable record player by Dieter Rams for Braun in 1959. The design is credited for beginning the gradual simplification of product interfaces; an approach that can be seen to have continued in a straight line all the way to Jonathan Ive’s work for Apple. Phonograph can be positioned horizontally or vertically just like the TP1 and each finish is offered in a stamped and numbered edition of #10, accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity and a unique wooden crate. All editions in the Common Parts series are produced by Minimalux on a made to order basis with a delivery time of 3-4 weeks. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
