Blackhead Ball Pythons are known for their distinctive dark head coloration, rich pigmentation, and beautifully contrasted patterns. The Blackhead gene often enhances darker tones while altering the traditional Ball Python pattern, creating a bold and recognizable appearance. Blackhead is also highly valued by breeders for its ability to produce striking combinations with a wide variety of other morphs.

Blackhead is an incomplete dominant morph with a visually distinct super form. Breeding two Blackhead Ball Pythons together can produce Super Blackhead, which typically displays an even more dramatically altered pattern and coloration. Blackhead is also allelic with Spider, making it particularly interesting in advanced breeding projects.
