His hand-sculpted and hand-painted face is framed by white curls beneath a small black top hat. A high black lace collar, dark tailored textiles, and a vintage brass beehive stick pin give him the severe elegance of a peculiar Victorian apothecary. His found-object bottle is embossed “California Fig Syrup Co. / CALIFIG / Sterling Products (Inc.) / Successor.”
