There’s no mistaking ‘Nostalgia’ in flower. Rounded buds open into large creamy-white blooms edged in rich cherry red, with the red spreading further across the petals as the flowers mature. With blooms at different stages opening together, the display is constantly changing.
The flowers are held on strong, upright stems above glossy dark green leaves, making ‘Nostalgia’ particularly good for cutting. Snip a few for a vase and there will still be plenty to enjoy outside, with new flowers opening in repeat flushes through the season.
It’s this combination of unusual colouring, fragrance and flowers that keep coming from summer into autumn that makes ‘Nostalgia’ such a good garden rose. Grow it in a border or a large container and deadhead regularly to encourage each new flush.
