As summer colour begins to fade, Snowberry ‘Magical Candy’ really starts to shine. Masses of vivid lilac-pink berries appear from late summer, clustering along its arching stems and bringing a welcome splash of colour to autumn borders. The berries remain well into winter, keeping your garden interesting as other plants begin to die back.
Earlier in the year, small white flowers flushed with pink appear among the dark green foliage, developing into the colourful berries that make this shrub so distinctive. Its compact, spreading habit works beautifully among other shrubs and perennials, reaching around 1m high and spreading 1–1.5m.
Fully hardy and easy to grow, ‘Magical Candy’ is happy in full sun or partial shade and adapts to a wide range of soil types. Plant it in a mixed border where you can enjoy those berry-covered stems through autumn and winter, either as a single feature or repeated for an even bigger splash of seasonal colour.
Please note: Snowberry berries are ornamental and harmful if eaten. Wear gloves when handling the plant.
