Not everything needs a full tray — the perfume on a dresser, the day's jewellery, a few dates handed round when someone drops in. Some things just want a slim, good-looking thing to sit on.

This one is made in brass in Lahore, shaped like a wave mid-curl — the centre hammered, the long edges hand-engraved with flowers, the whole thing lifted on small feet. Slim and lean: use it to serve snacks or dry fruit, to gather small things on a console, or for jewellery and perfume on a dresser. Too narrow for a full tea service, but just right for the in-between things. Fourteen inches, in gold or silver.
